This is what I do to prepare the starter before adding to the sourdough

Ingredients (for 1 loaf)

  • 15g starter
  • 30g water
  • 30g flour

Method

  1. Place the starter in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add water and mix to form a slurry.
  3. Add the flour and mix.
  4. Transfer to a tall bottle.
  5. Leave to rise till about triple in volume before adding to the flour, water mix.
